Wallpaper & Murals to make your walls smile

19th Century Britain was the center of biological enthusiasm. Women were largely left out of this pursuit and were banned from the majority of natural history societies. Luckily there was seaweed. Seaweed collecting embodied a cross-section of Victorian pursuits, allowing women to explore nature, improve their scientific knowledge and create an attractive memento to decorate their homes. It was Anna Akins interest in this study of algae and photography that lead her to create the first-ever published photographic book. Some even say she was the first-ever female photographer.
Searching for Bladderwrack is paying homage to Anna Akins and has a nod to the Art Nouveau elegance of the 19th Century.
This beautiful design will create a welcoming atmosphere in either traditional or contemporary rooms.
